First and foremost, this image came up over at GSM Help Desk, and they were very quick to point it out as being the HTC Obsession we’ve all been waiting to see. There’s a reason we’ve all been waiting to see it: Windows Mobile 7. And right there, should give you all the information you need to see why this device is not the future HTC Obsession, or Diamond3.
Right at the start, we can see Android all over this thing. From the rendered images on the phone, to the rendered physical buttons below the screen. Every piece there, every single element, shows us that whatever phone this is, it’s obviously not running Windows Mobile 7, but Android. And, that second image, in the line of three, is doing something very strange with the widgets placed on the screen. Looking at it more closely, it seems like the phone is showing off a new way to transition from screen to screen, if not a new way to look at two panels at once. And it doesn’t look like it has a trackball, or even an optical mouse, either. It just looks like a circular pad.
So, as the title states, what is this device? We’ve got no idea. The more we look at it, the more we want to just chalk it up as being entirely fake, and call it a day. There are just too many parts of this that don’t seem real, and that includes all the parts that contradict every feature of the HTC Obsession/Diamond3 that we’ve heard about in the past. Why anyone would show off a Windows Mobile device sporting Android is beyond us, but hey, there are stranger things happening out there, so maybe this is just some clever ploy. We’ll be sure to keep you updated if something changes regarding this device.
