Maybe you’re one of the millions of owners of a Wii. And maybe you love standing up in the middle of your living room, with the Wii-mote and nunchuk in your hands, or on the Wii’s balance board, and going to town for a half hour. Or maybe you love your Wii, but you wish that you could just sit down on the couch and play some classic games on a classic controller. Well, you don’t have to wait much longer.

According to Nintendo, the Classic Controller Pro is all set to make it’s appearance here in the States. Of course, this isn’t the only “traditional” controller to make an appearance with the Wii, as the Classic controller is already available, bringing memories of the Nintendo Entertainment System to everyone’s mind. And that’s a great thing, in of itself. But, there’s a growing number of people who want to be able to play games that have been ported to the Wii system with a more balanced controller. While Nintendo and developers do a great job of making it so even ported games have a “motion-based” game play in one or another, some times playing a First Person Shooter) just feels better with two joysticks.

We wish, perhaps, that the joysticks were positioned a bit better (as this layout brings the SIXAXIS controller to mind, along with every other PlayStation-based controller before that), but someone in the design department thought this was a great idea. And, we know we may be over-analyzing the Classic Controller Pro a bit too much, but the A, B, X, and Y buttons seem so oddly out of order. We figure you can’t do much in terms of placement, as Nintendo would not want people thinking they were stealing the layout of Microsoft’s Xbox 360 controllers, but still. In any case, Nintendo has stated that the CCP will be coming to the States in April, in two different packages. The first, with the controller only, and costing a mere $20. Lastly, it will come with a game called Monster Hunter Tri, in which case you can get the game and controller for only $60. Great deals, if you ask us.
